Philosophy
Our organization
teaches respect for human values very effectively through a
system of etiquette and seniority among students and instructors.
In addition to respect in the class, they are taught to respect
all life and never to use their skill to harm others without
cause.
We instill discipline,
like respect, is one of the building blocks of martial arts
education. Without discipline, a student cannot master the difficult
and demanding skills of the arts and life.
Members of this
organization are taught social responsibility and interaction.
Members have responsibilities such as keeping the school clean,
and learn to contribute to their school to make a pleasant and
safe atmosphere in which to learn.
Members are taught
that the correct uses for their knowledge, including what constitutes
a self-defense situation in which harming another person is
justifiable. Our organization will make it clear to every member
when he/she is justified in using his/her knowledge and what
amount of force is necessary to protect him/herself.
Martial arts are
a natural pursuit, well suited for members of every age and
ability. We will teach the needs of all members of different
age groups when planning curriculum.
Physical and mental
health is the most obvious and greatest benefit our organization
will offer. As their physical health improves, members begin
to feel better about themselves. They gain more confidence in
their physical being, have less stress, and feel at ease.
We encourage a
healthy lifestyle and sound mind. We also teach members how
to manage their time by introducing the concept of setting and
achieving goals regularly.
Members are taught
about their relationship to the world around them through explanations
of natural phenomena and how they relate to training.
We encourage members
to meet and exchange ideas with each other on a global scale, such
as international seminars and competition.
Finally, we teach
christian values, and our organization incorporates a prayer
written by Grandmaster Frank Ordonez, co-founder of the Kajukenbo
system, before the start of each class and we bless our belts
before and after each martial arts function.
